Skiing

Alpe Giumello is the ideal place for skiing away from the crowds. Alpine skiing, cross-country, sledding, rentals, and services for families, all surrounded by stunning views of Lake Como and the Alps.

An Accessible Winter Paradise with Panoramic Views

Alpe Giumello is the perfect winter destination for those who love snow but prefer a welcoming, uncrowded setting immersed in nature. Here, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and sledding take place on well-maintained slopes suitable for all levels, with spectacular views stretching from Lake Como to the snow-covered Alpine peaks

Downhill Skiing: Perfect for Beginners and Those Looking to Improve

The alpine ski slopes at Alpe Giumello are designed to be safe, accessible, and well-maintained. They’re ideal for beginners, children, or anyone looking to learn to ski in a calm and relaxed environment—without the crowds typical of larger resorts. With a conveyor lift (“Adele”) and a modern ski lift, the facilities are easy to use for everyone.

Over the years, the Association has invested in upgrading the slopes and purchasing equipment such as a winch-equipped snow groomer, which has made it possible to host races and training sessions with over 200 athletes from various ski clubs.

Cross-Country Skiing: Silence and Harmony in the Snow

For those who love peace and direct contact with nature, the cross-country ski trail at Alpe Giumello is a true haven. Thanks to the collaboration with Nordik Ski, the trail is regularly groomed and maintained, offering a complete experience through snow-covered woods and clearings. Suitable for both skating and classic styles, it can also be enjoyed with snowshoes or on foot.

Sledding: Timeless Fun for All Ages

The sledding area at Alpe Giumello is perfect for families and those looking to have fun without skiing. The slopes are suitable even for the youngest visitors and are located in a safe, designated area near parking and rental services. The more adventurous can try longer runs, while children can enjoy shorter, gentler slopes.

On-Site Rentals and Services

At the ski rental station at the base of the slopes, you’ll find all the gear you need: skis, boots, snowshoes, sleds, and helmets. The staff is available to offer advice and technical assistance. Additionally, the nearby mountain huts and lodges serve warm meals—perfect for a break between runs.

Winter Fun for the Whole Family

One of Alpe Giumello’s key strengths is the variety of winter activities available. While children take part in ski lessons or play in the snow, adults can enjoy cross-country skiing or scenic walks. All of this takes place in a peaceful environment, far from mass tourism but with all the essential amenities.

The Commitment of the Alpe Giumello Association

The Alpe Giumello Association manages and promotes the winter facilities with great passion. Every year, it organizes sports events, days dedicated to children, and collaborations with schools and ski clubs. The goal is to offer an authentic and sustainable experience that keeps the bond with the mountains alive.

A Mountain for Everyone

At Alpe Giumello, snow becomes an opportunity for gathering, play, and sports accessible to all. Whether you’re a beginner or a winter enthusiast, you’ll find slopes and spaces perfect for enjoying the mountains in a healthy, simple, and fulfilling way.
